About Me

Passionate about basketball and a self-described sneakerhead, Ricardo Zhang is a Chinese photographer with a keen interest in basketball culture and collecting. He is also fascinated by the international student experience, particularly as he feels this group can be neglected and underrepresented in visual culture. Away Home is an ongoing documentary series in which Ricardo documents the lives of international students from China, capturing their way of thinking and attitude toward life in a foreign country. Ricardo splits his time between Toronto and Beijing.
